The Cube wins architecture prize

The Cube in Utrecht, a design by Team V and a joint development by Van Wijnen and Rockfield Real Estate and investment by International Campus Group, today received the prize for "best building & architecture" in the coliving awards.

"The Cube is designed as two fifteen-storey stepped towers, with two cut-outs that bring air and activity into the facade. The design is in line with Healthy Urban Living: the ambition of the municipality of Utrecht, in which a healthy lifestyle and mutual connection are central. This is reflected, among other things, in the stepped-up outdoor terraces and various sports facilities such as a boot camp track and fitness room. They invite students to a healthy, active and social lifestyle. Large windows with French balconies, collective roof gardens and a pleasant courtyard provide a bright and healthy living environment. The public spaces in the plinth, such as the restaurant with training company and the coffee bar with study landscape, form a bridge between the students and the current residents of Overvecht"
